I am Dawid, an independent programmer who creates macros for Tekla Structures. I was a steel detailer, and I have experience with Tekla Structures models and drawings.
My macros can help you with industrial steel structures. I sell them in subscription, which you can purchase on this website. The subscription price depends on the number of computers and selected programs.
💰 About prices: Programming custom solutions is an expensive and time-consuming task. I don’t do it anymore. I decided to make products and sell them for 1/100 of their real cost.
Home » Tekla tip #7: Change shortening symbol
In Tekla Structures, excessively long elements on drawings are automatically shortened. A gap appears in the middle of the view, where a symbol indicating the shortening is drawn. Unfortunately, the style of this symbol cannot be adjusted in the drawing options, leading to significant user frustration. However, few people know that the style of the shortening symbol can be set globally for the entire project in the advanced options.
Options are not avaiable in drawing or view properties. Shortening symbol can be only changed globaly in advanced options:
XS_SHORTENING_SYMBOL_COLOR = 153 or 154-163
XS_SHORTENING_SYMBOL_LINE_TYPE = 1 or 2-7
XS_SHORTENING_SYMBOL_WITH_ZIGZAG = FALSE or TRUE
