One of the most frustrating things in the Tekla Structures engineering program is the lack of control over the numbering of elements. After running the numbering command, we only receive information on whether the process was successful, but we have no influence over which numbers are assigned to individual elements. Unfortunately, this cannot be changed, but there is a way to preview the number changes before they are confirmed. The option “Synchronize with master model” is used for this purpose. Although it was originally designed for multi-user mode, it can also be used in single-user mode. Its main advantage is the ability to undo changes in numbering—Tekla Structures saves the model before numbering and displays a preview of the changes, which can be accepted or canceled. This option has saved my numbering multiple times.
Use Save-numbering-save option
This causes saving the model before numbering then Tekla Structures show you the numbering dialog with all changed numbers allowing you to accept or cancel numbering operation.
To turn on this option you have to open Numbering Settings, check the Synchronize with master model (save-numbering-save) option and click apply. (I always save my numbering settings as standard to have the same numbering settings after Tekla Structures restart. I recommend you the same)
Numbering report window
When numbering report window shows the Tekla Structures freeze. You can read report and select parts in model by clicking on the report row. You can cancel numbering or save numbers.
